Rehab Lab Exercise Strategies

With an adjustment, I move you. With exercise, YOU move you.

Health is Ownership. With exercise, we move from pain relief to ownership. From “healing” to “healthy.”

Movement is both the goal and the means.

Your very first session at Rehab Lab Arizona is oriented around movement. We evaluate your movement patterns and assess the movement quality of each joint, identifying the dysfunction that caused your pain or injury. Once that has been mapped out, we build an exercise plan based on the sports and activities that you love. I match the exercise demand to the activity level that you need. The pro athlete is treated differently in-season vs off-season. The retired pickleball champion is treated differently than the ultramarathoner hunting a PR or the father of 4 who just needs to be able to wrestle his children. We fit the treatment plan to your goals, so that the movement belongs to you.

Exercise Progression

During rehab, I progress athletes through 4 phases of training:

  1. Mobility and Awareness

  2. Stability and Coordination

  3. Endurance and Versatility

  4. Speed and Power

With each phase, we feed your nervous system new information and you develop ownership over new territory. As we resolve the movement inefficiencies that created your injury, you will see that you can get back to your pre-injury form. You can even be better than you were before the injury.

Method Overview

I’ve personally trained through a wide range of sports, from martial arts to college football. I’ve also worked with a wide range of athletes, from Broadway dancers to NBA players. My training toolbox is flexible enough to focus on the intricacies of joint specific motor control and also address how those concepts fit into your overall performance on the field/course/court/track/pool/gym/studio.

Some of the techniques that you will see integrated into your rehab —> training program include:

Your body was made to be brilliant. Take back your freedom and regain ownership over your body.
